Their leadership ensures that our programs and initiatives continue to inspire, educate, and empower future generations.


GLORIA JOHNSON
Gloria L. Johnson is a strategic operations leader and dedicated community advocate with more than 15 years of experience advancing initiatives that strengthen communities and expand opportunity across Rhode Island. She currently serves as Assistant Director of Loan Servicing at RIHousing, where she oversees high-volume loan servicing operations, leads cross-functional teams, and ensures compliance with federal and state housing regulations. Throughout her career in both the public and private sectors, Gloria has built a reputation for aligning organizational strategy with effective policy implementation, improving operational systems, and supporting responsible lending practices that promote long-term housing stability.

Prior to her current role, Gloria held several leadership positions at RIHousing and Santander Bank, where she developed deep expertise in operational risk management, consumer lending, and regulatory compliance. Her work has consistently focused on strengthening processes, reducing operational risk, and collaborating with leadership, regulatory agencies, and community partners to develop policies that support sustainable housing and economic opportunity for families.
Equally committed to service beyond her professional work, Gloria is an active community leader dedicated to youth development, civic engagement, and housing equity. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Swearer Center at Brown University and YouthBuild Preparatory Academy, supporting initiatives that connect education, service, and leadership opportunities for young people in the community. She previously served as Board President of the West Elmwood Housing Development Corporation and has contributed to several nonprofit and civic organizations focused on neighborhood development and community empowerment. Through her leadership and volunteerism, Gloria continues to champion efforts that expand access to resources, strengthen local organizations, and uplift the voices of the communities she serves.
